National Gender Focal Points
National Gender Focal Points An integral in providing essential data and information on the national situation EGDC has established National Gender Focal Points in each of the ECOWAS Member States as part of its commitment to fostering better coordination and communication with both regional and national stakeholders. This initiative is designed to enhance the impact and effectiveness of EGDC’s programs and projects. The National Gender Focal Points actively participate in the identification, appraisal, implementation, and monitoring of projects and activities conducted by the Centre. They provide essential data and information on the national Gender activities. Recognizing the pivotal role of National Gender Focal Points in achieving successful regional program implementation and serving as crucial intermediaries between EGDC and their respective governments.
EGDC organizes regular meetings with the National Gender Focal Points to discuss project proposals and financing and provide recommendations for the next steps. Additionally, EGDC offers technical support and builds capacity to further empower the National Gender Focal Points.
